The DeWilde Woods property is a 20-acre parcel located in Whatcom County, Washington. The property was selectively logged for high-grade timber in the middle to late 1990s. What remains is predominately a hardwood stand consisting of red alder and big leaf maple. Red cedar and western hemlock also exist on the property.

The average annual precipitation in this area is about 60 inches. On the basis of a 50-year site curve, the mean site index for Douglas fir is 125. The region up off the valley floor is generally dedicated to timber production. This property is well suited to grow timber and will respond well to silviculture techniques.
